She’s not getting into real estate to “try it out” or chase a trend. Kendra has wanted to be a real estate investor since she was 14, and she’s using her real estate agent career as the most practical shortcut to knowledge, confidence, and deal experience. We talk through what that strategy looks like in real life: learning by listing and selling other people’s properties now so she’s sharper, faster, and more prepared when it’s time to buy her own.
We also get honest about what makes clients choose an agent. Kendra’s background in the service industry shapes how she works with people, from first-time homebuyers to sellers who need someone steady and responsive. We connect the dots between customer service, communication, and the real estate process, where your job is to focus on what the consumer needs and help them accomplish it without extra stress. If you’re a new agent, considering a career change, or trying to improve your client experience, you’ll hear practical insight you can apply right away.
Kendra shares why she chose Keller Williams, especially the value of mentorship, coaching, and training when you’re newly licensed and feel like you’re “thrown into the ocean.” We also talk about her Army National Guard Reserves service, how discipline helps in a commission-based business, and why Keller Williams Red Day matters as a National Day of Service that builds community and character. You’ll even hear how she’s approaching real estate marketing with video and social media to stay visible and earn trust.

Why Real Estate Investing Comes First
SPEAKER_00you. So tell me first of all, why real estate?
SPEAKER_01Honestly, my end goal is to be a real estate investor since I was, I'm gonna say 14. I've always dreamed to be a real estate investor. Since 14, that's awesome. Good. This is where the money is. Yeah. Yeah. And I feel like I'll make the money faster by and gain the experience by selling other people's properties, listing them, things like that.
SPEAKER_00So when I have my own properties, you'll already have all that experience behind you. Yeah. I love that.
Service Industry Skills That Translate
SPEAKER_00So why don't you tell people out there why they would want to work with you?
SPEAKER_01I think it would be a great opportunity to work with me because I am a people person. I have tons of experience in the service industry from waitressing to sales. And honestly, I am trying to be that first home buyer, so it would be perfect. I love that.
SPEAKER_00So I you know, I always I never was a waitress. I I don't think I could have handled it, but I think it really sets you up for how to handle and deal with people because you get to see everything. Yeah. Nice people, mean people, hard to work with people, and you always have to have the smile and you have to do what you need to do because you're serving. Yeah. And that's the same thing in this business. You know, it's all about the consumer. It's what they need, what is it that they're trying to accomplish? And I think that's going to really meld very well with this business. And just the idea that you just have this gumption that you really want to do this and that you already have a vision that you want to be a real estate investor. So I think the knowledge that you're going to gain over time is going to be amazing.
Choosing Keller Williams For Mentorship
SPEAKER_00So I guess that brings me to why Keller Williams.
SPEAKER_01Honestly, I interviewed a bunch of brokerages when I first got my real estate license because since I'm a new agent, I wanted a lot of hands-on help and like guidance. You know, when you first get your license, it's like you're thrown out into the ocean and you have to learn how to swim and navigate. And I love that Keller Williams Realty has a lot of mentors, um, coaching, classes. There's like endless possibilities of growth with this brokerage itself. Yes. And the broker, she is very on it. She um you can have great communication with her. It's not like there's a brokerage and you don't know who she is for real.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, I that's important to me. I I really pride myself on knowing my agents. Um, and everybody's different, which is really cool. Yeah. And everybody can help different people in different ways. So I do pride myself on being here and helping and sharing my knowledge. Uh, you know, whenever you need me, you just give me a call for anything.
SPEAKER_01I love that. Yeah.
SPEAKER_00So I think that's one of the great things about KW because it really is a true team feel. Uh, if you're on a team or you're not on a team, you're part of a big team, which is which is really nice.
Life Outside Real Estate And The Army
SPEAKER_00So tell me something that you do outside of the business, a hobby. What is it you like to do?
SPEAKER_01Well, I'm pretty busy between the military and working full-time, but I love to paint. Oh, yes, okay. I love to paint, I love to make jewelry. Um, I love to swim and travel.
SPEAKER_00I love that. I love that my mom is an artist. Oh, you'll have to ask her to see some of her work. She's funny. That's awesome. So you are in the military, which branch?
SPEAKER_01I'm in the Army, National Guard, Reserves.
SPEAKER_00Nice. Well, thank you for your service. We appreciate that. That's awesome. So you have the discipline that it takes to do this business. Yeah. Yeah, that's really
Red Day Giving Back And Marketing
SPEAKER_00cool. So while we're talking about service, let's talk a little bit about Red Day. So, Red Day is Keller Williams' National Day of Service across the community, and you seem to really take to that.
SPEAKER_01Yes, I love seeing the veterans and the advice that they had to offer, the wisdom that they gave. Unfortunately, we couldn't record them, but yeah, they said a lot of things. But aren't they so cute?
SPEAKER_00And they have so much, oh, they have so many stories. I just love it. And Red Day is such a great day to give back to the community. Yeah, and I saw you doing a lot of video and content, so that was really good too.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, I've been trying to advertise more with real estate. And yeah, it's pretty fun.
SPEAKER_00That that's important. You need to be out there in front of people and uh you have to be able to present someone's home. Yeah. You know, and having that skill is really, really
How To Reach Kendra
SPEAKER_00important. So, Kendra, if someone wanted to reach out to you to list their home or buy a home or maybe even lease a property, how would they get in touch with you?
SPEAKER_01Through any of my social media platforms, my phone number is 443-750-4203, and my email is Kendra Hill at KW.com.
SPEAKER_00That is a very easy email to remember. Guys, give Kendra a call. She will take such great care of you. She has what it takes and she cares. So you will do yourself a huge favor. And this is another episode of Real Estate Real Answers. Thank you, Kendra.
